Committee News

Hi guys

As some of you might already be aware we have lost our Soul Casino sponsorship. The climate in Aberdeen over the past few years has seen the demise of many local businesses as well as oil companies job loss. On a brighter note I have managed to secure two new sponsors David McAllister of Panda Rosa Metals and Max Stewart (BA hon ) local artist. The committee would like to suggest a weekly £1 league payment for the six games played at each club ie £1 from each player per match to raise our funds and keep Aberdeen snooker healthy. At the end of each month there would be a prize draw and everyone would have the chance of winning £75. Another suggestion is at the end of the season three clubs would win the sum of £400 each to be used for new balls, new cloth or lighting ect for their tables. It’s our aim to keep Aberdeen snooker running as smoothly as possible and not let the loss of sponsorship damage our healthy league and competitions as well as our financial state. We hope this can have a positive response and my aim is to try and be fair to all.

I’m sure we could all afford this small contribution and the bonus of the chance to win some cash monthly or if you prefer help keep our club tables up to standard .

Kind regards

Hi guys, following on from my last post regarding the proposed £1 a week snooker. It has been suggested that if this went through we could afford to make the competition entry fee substantially cheaper, again this is only a suggestion and hope to get a positive response. Thanks guys

Regards John...

Sounds a lot of hassle for little benefit.

reduce the prize money

Hazlehead players already pay £1 per week for our own snooker funds. This covers league fees and gives us spare money for any maintenance of the table or any equipment required. Trying to get more money out of each player for this is something I would not look forward to. Hopefully this would be voluntary for any club wishing to participate.

Making competition entry fees cheaper wouldn't unfortunately make any difference to Hazlehead players, as unfortunately they are just not interested in entering any of the competitions. I cannot change or influence this.

If there is a shortage of funds then a small reasonable increase of the usual £100 league fees would be an acceptable way of raising extra funds.

Where does our £100 fee go towards anyway?

Hi Stephen. Just noticed your request for information on how the £100 entry is spent.

To save a long winded reply this is always made available to all in the balance sheet at our AGM. If you was there you would of received a copy of the balance sheet but I can’t remember if you was or not.

Happy to forward a copy to you if you need it.

Regards

Raymond.

New season  now on the calender with comps dates included

We have went back to last 16 playing at Culter to try get more players entering our  comps and get more players playing at final stages

We going to have the rankings change from 2 year results to 1 year.

After each comp we will change rankings by dropping 1 comp results and replacing with the new comp results so to try change seeds positions more often.

We have decided to place last 16 seeds in at last 32 and have all seeds playing away from home to get to the venue stages

All comps will have ranking points including handicap  comp

£5 entry fee per comp inc the North

League handicap will still go towards your final ranking position

Good luck guys
