Due to the impending clash with the National Snooker finals, and the commitment I made to our players who wanted to try to qualify for that event, we have had discussions this week about the re-scheduling options for the Inter-clubs Finals.
A decision has been made to play down to the last 8 as planned, at which point we will schedule a date for the QF/SF and the Final after liaising with the 8 qualifying players.
Thanks to Kenny and Duncan for their input and ideas, and especially to Sandy for being able to sort things out with the Venue.
Moving forward we will not be able to do this again as it's unfair on the Venue, who once we book our dates, do not accept any other bookings for those dates. This is a fantastic commitment to Aberdeen Snooker especially in the current financial climate. So for future competitions please check all dates including Finals (we will do our best to ensure no clashes with National events) prior to entry, if anything comes up afterwards, unfortunately you will need to decide which is more important.
We are putting big efforts into obtaining sponsorship and prize-money and are bringing in the Aberdeen Masters for the Top 16 ranked players after this season's North Of Scotland which again will carry healthy prize-money, so we hope everybody feels they are worth supporting.
